Data, Information, Knowledge, and Wisdom – Redux…11.09.09
10 11 2009[Nice visual from Data, Information, Knowledge, and Wisdom on the general human comprehension of the definition of and path to wisdom.]
In 2008, “the Arete Initiative at The University of Chicago…launched a $2 million research program on the nature and benefits of wisdom. Once regarded as a subject worthy of the most rigorous inquiries in order to discern its nature and benefits, wisdom is currently overlooked as a topic for serious scholarly and scientific investigation in many fields. Yet it is difficult to imagine a subject more central to the human enterprise and whose exploration holds greater promise in shedding light and opening up creative possibilities for human flourishing…”
The Institute has a blog and recent publications page with many interesting and erudite titles — apparently all very scholarly, of course.
Not meaning to deride in any way their intellectual pursuits, has this well-funded, august and prestigious group of researchers come close to finally discerning or deducing the truth about “wisdom”?
CONTUNUE to post: Beyond Knowledge – A Discourse on Wisdom.
